A Nice Getaway! Positive: - This partciular cabin is the smallest of the bunch, but if it's just you and your partner it's nice and cozy! - The Location is amazing and hiking is just a drive down the road! - You can see the needles hwy rock formations and a cute pond from the porch. - The overall decor was very cozy and practicle. Some of the furniture doubled as storage for more blankets and even some games! - The breakfast bar was very cool and made of real wood! - The heat was on when we arrived which was perfect because it was very cold outside! - They had a cleaned dog mat ready for our doggy upon arrival! Nice touch! - There were an abudance of towels and wash clothes available in the bathroom. - The fire pit is awesome! Each cabin has its own so you can have a nice intimate fire all to yourself! - At night, it's very dark so bring a flashlight. This makes for great star gazing! - There was a hammock available in the cabin, so going during the summer would be excellent. Negative: - The message from the owner says a 4x4 is desriable and we can confirm! Just drive slow and watch out for rocks. - Because this was the smallest cabin, it also has a smaller shower. I'm a small female and I felt a little claustrophobic. My husband, a 6-foot man, kept hitting his eblows on the walls and shower valve. - The mattress could use an upgrade as it was old and slightly angled down at the head (or perhaps that was the cabin itself? Not 100% sure) - There are not a lot of outlets in the bedroom, so if you have a lot of electronic devices, be sure to bring a powerstrip or something similar.

It was very clean and welcoming. The host was super friendly and communication was good. I would come and stay again.

Negative: Pond was supposed to be available for fishing, but was not very accessible.

The Little Joy cabin was just what we needed for our stay in Custer. We were able to relax in the peacefulness of the area yet stay close to town and attractions. It was clean and comfy. Communications with the host were great!

Overall very nice place to stay, we would stay again. We stayed for 5 nights and had a really nice view of the needles in Custer park. The dirt road they are located on leads right to the park so that's nice, we found that out by accident. The grills are charcoal so if you want to use it bring your own and same with firewood for the firepit, it's an orb like one and works really well especially for keeping sparks in. The only knock we would give is the shower is really tight, we're avg. size and my wife had to get out to lather up and go back in and rinse. There was plenty of room for our dogs to play. We used the sauna 1 night it's nice, they keep it hot all the time so it's ready when you are.
